Summer 2008
- What: Adopt-A-Cabin Program
- Specifics: Looking for volunteers to adopt one of the 7 cabins on Craig Mountain & travel 1-2 times a year for cabin maintenance, stocking supplies, check water supply, etc.
- When: Any time.
- Where: Cabins on Craig Mountain.
- Logistics: Maintenance will include: Cut, split & stock firewood. Stock other cabin supplies such as food. Check & clean water supply. Fire prevention maintenance.
- # Volunteers: As many as possible.
- What: Adoption Program
- Specifics: Whether it be a cabin on Craig Mountain or a recreation access, you or your group can adopt a site to care for on your own time.
- When: Anytime.
- Where: Any of the lowland lake & reservoir sites, fishing access sites, and WMA roadways & trails in the Clearwater region.
- Logistics: Most sites will need a visit once or twice a year. Duties will include basic maintenance such as; trash clean-up, and other small projects as needed. Maps & directions will be available if needed.
- What: Lodgepole Thinning Project
- When: Weekends in July.
- Where: Craig Mountain WMA.
- Logistics: Meeting times and locations will be arranged. Meals and tools provided. Duties: Cutting & piling small diameter lodgepole pine to open meadows for wildlife habitat.
Bring: Weather appropriate clothing, gloves, water, raingear, good boots.
- # Volunteers: As many as possible
- What: Potlatch River Steelhead Sampling
- When: July.
- Where: Potlatch River Tributaries.
- Logistics: Meeting days, times and locations will be arranged. Lunch will be provided. Assist fisheries crew with catching and tagging steelhead smolts. Bring: Fishing gear, water, raingear, etc.
- # Volunteers: 8-10.
