Volunteer Projects
Summer 2008
- What: Native Seed Collection (Collect native shrub, flower and grass seed for habitat restoration efforts)
- Where: Southwest Idaho mountains.
- When: July and August, as the seed ripens.
- Logistics: Transportation, tools provided. Call for dates.
- # Volunteers: Three to fifteen each day.
- What: Habitat TLC (Water high bank shrubs and trees in hot summer that volunteers planted)
- Where: Little Salmon River, Fourmile Creek and Round Valley Creek near New Meadows.
- When: Weekdays in July and August.
- Logistics: Buckets, pumps and transportation provided.
- # Volunteers: Five + each day.
- What: Idaho Bird Observatory (Help w/songbird, raptor trapping & data collection)
- Where: Boise foothills, Lucky and Boise Peaks.
- When: August-October, seven days a week.
- Logistics: Four wheel drive vehicle necessary to negotiate the road to Lucky Peak - transportation possible although seldom available.
- # Volunteers: One to three seven days/week. Call for more information.
- What: Boise River Sweep (Clean up trash along river)
- Where: Boise River, Star Bridge to confluence with the Snake.
- When: September 13, 2008.
- Logistics: Transportation, tools provided.
- # Volunteers: Fifteen to twenty.
