Murphy Fire RehabThe Murphy Complex fire last summer was Idaho’s biggest wildfire in 97 years, burning 593,000 acres of wildlife habitat and rangeland on the Idaho-Nevada border. But last fall, Idaho answered the call for help from Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter. Nearly 1,000 volunteers collected a record amount of sagebrush seed. So what happens next? Find out how the seeds are processed and then distributed. Once again, Idaho Fish and Game is looking for help. Volunteers are needed to help plant bitterbrush and sagebrush seedlings in the burned areas. For more information on volunteer opportunities, check the Fish and Game website at fishandgame.idaho.gov.
