Between May and June, Fish and Game stocks about 685,000 catchable trout in Idaho waters. Those are the two biggest stocking months because Fish and Game hatchery crews want there to be plenty of fish for anglers to catch throughout the state and it tends to be some of the best fishing conditions of the year.

Idaho Fish and Game has begun the process of negotiated rulemaking. The Department will be hosting a series of public meetings at Fish and Game’s Headquarters building in Boise. The meetings will also be streamed virtually on Zoom. Those interested can learn more about each rule chapter being reviewed.

Late afternoon on Friday, May 24, a turkey hunter was attacked by a female moose on a section of Bureau of Land Management land bordering the Snake River downstream of Wadsworth Island, a few miles south of Blackfoot city limits.
